LoveTax, Baby, LoveTax

Today is the 15th which means the LoveTax machine just paid out for a 2nd time. It’s obviously early days with just a few users and tax payers, but we’re really excited for how this can grow. Don’t be afraid to try it out…it works. We’re slowly adding features so as not to overcomplicate it, and feeling things out along the way. New to the table: embedding videos in your taxes, and comments.

For example, […drum roll…] check out the new Imagination Station LoveTax:

Here’s today’s update message and maybe-next features:

Dear Pioneering LoveTaxers,

It’s another 15th which means it’s time for another drop of love in the bucket. Wooha!

We’ve recently added a couple of new features to LoveTax: videos and comments.

You can now add a video to your tax by hitting the edit button on your tax and pasting the URL/web address of a YouTube or Vimeo video into the labeled box. Adding a video is a great way to make your cause more immediate and tangible to time-strapped potential tax payers.

You can also comment on other taxes, and should receive notifications if and when someone comments on yours.

We want to keep this service really really simple and grow all new features super organically. At this point it may be *too* simple, meaning there’s not enough tax definition, poster authority, etc. If you have feedback and ideas on what you’d like to see so that you feel really good about getting out there with your causes, or feel better about contributing to other causes, please let us know.

Real quick let me share a couple of potential next features we’re kicking around.

1.) Being able to embed your tax on your own website so that people don’t need to go to lovetax.us to support you. The focus should be on directly connecting you with your friends, family, and fans who want to sustainably contribute to your goals. Incorporating cut-and-paste subscription payments into your existing site without an intermediary would presumably help with that.

2.) Adding location info (state, city, country) to taxes. We imagine LoveTax growing into a resource where people, organizations, and programs of all kinds and from anywhere can easily list themselves as open for sustained support, and where people can check out what local programs they can contribute to. Imagine a simple state by state, city by city, country by country directory of taxes.

Thank you so much. Improving inch by inch,

Team LOVELAND
